Breaking News: Announcing The 2018 Grand Prix D'Horlogerie De Genève Jury

Today we got the previously piece of information about the 2018 release of the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG), the greatest honors in watchmaking, with the declaration of the current year’s jury. A year ago we informed you concerning the expansion of our own special editorial manager in-boss , Jack Forster, who isn’t going anyplace and will again be a piece of the current year’s consultations and casting a ballot. Yet, alongside our regarded and courageous pioneer, there are 30 other jury individuals that address different aspects of the worldwide fake watch prices community. Some are long-term veterans of the Grand Prix, while others are new to the board. We should investigate’s who and why this matters.

Let’s beginning with who’s out. This year we won’t be seeing Rene Beyer (renowned Zürich retailer and historical center co-proprietor), David Chang (writer and authority), Zhixiang Ding (columnist), Emmanuel Gueit (planner), Nazanin Lankarani (writer), and Tina Zegg (retailer) on the panel.

Clockwise from upper left: Sébastien Chaulmontet, Rebecca Struthers, Carson Chan, and Marine Lemonnier.

The jury has gotten somewhat greater this year, going from 28 to 31 individuals, which means we have eight individuals supplanting the six that are leaving. The newcomers are Carla Chalouhi (President of Arije International), Carson Chan (authority, coach, and head of mission for the FHH in Asia), Sébastien Chaulmontet (gatherer, fake watch prices maker, and history specialist; in the past of La Joux-Perret), Gary Getz (authority, essayist, and picture taker), F.P. Journe (watchmaker), Marine Lemonnier (previous head of communications with Hublot and TAG Heuer), Vincent Perez (Swiss entertainer and chief), Rebecca Struthers (watchmaker), and Michael Tay (co-bunch Managing Director of The Hour Glass). It merits nothing that in Michael Tay’s case, he’s coming back to the jury, in the wake of requiring a year ago off.

The President and Vice-President of the jury are both returning individuals: Aurel Bacs (of sale acclaim) and Gianfranco Ritschel (specialist and watchmaking mentor) however the non-casting a ballot commissioner job currently has a place with Régis Hugenin-Dumittan, caretaker head of the Musée International d’Horlogerie (MIH), with amazing watchmaker Ludwig Oechslin venturing aside.

The Chopard L.U.C Full Strike was a year ago’s Aiguille d’Or winner.

In one of the more abnormal turns in late GPHG memory, Karl-Friedrich Scheufele will be returning as the uncommon legal hearer, having won the Aiguille d’Or (the top prize) two years straight. How could this be conceivable, you may inquire? Isn’t the extraordinary attendant’s image expected to be ineligible? Indeed, Mr. Scheufele won in 2016 for Ferdinand Berthoud and afterward in 2017 for Chopard, thus his return. It’s abnormal, however a characteristic consequence of the voting.
