Introducing: The Jaquet Droz Grande Seconde Skelet-One

Fast Take

Jaquet Droz is one of those brands that has an assortment of fake watch prices that is really special on the lookout. The Grande Seconde, with its off kilter dials and curiously large sub-seconds register, doesn’t appear as though anything else out there. It’s spotless, it’s immediately unmistakable, and it blends conventional finishes and styles in with a slightly current reasonableness. This new emphasis, the Grande Seconde Skelet-One, keeps the center tenets of the plan while taking the fake watch prices an absolutely new way by making the sub-dials out of thing sheets of sapphire and drastically skeletonizing the movement.

There are three forms of the Skelet-One: fired with red gold accents, red gold, and white gold. Something to note is that the fired adaptation is slightly bigger in width than the two gold variants (coming in at 41.5mm rather than 41mm) and even a smidgen thicker (12.48mm rather than 12.3mm). For each of the three, the extensions of the type 2663 SQ have been given a dim treatment for an all the more high-contrast look and the winding rotor is openworked as well so it doesn’t get in the way.

Introductory Thoughts

I’ve consistently had sort of a weakness for Jaquet Droz’s Grande Seconde models – there’s something about the slight deviation that I find so charming. The Skelet-One (beside the awful name) has me exceptionally tangled though. From one viewpoint, I truly like playing with straightforwardness and the thin sapphire dial looks amazing, yet then again I think a portion of the immaculateness of the Grande Seconde configuration is lost here when you can see so much going on behind the scenes. This is one of those fake watch prices that I’m truly going to have to find in the metal before I decide. Stay tuned.
