Introducing: The Tudor Black Bay P01
Drawing motivation from a model military jumper they created during the 1960s, Tudor has quite recently declared a wild different take on the Black Bay, called the P01. With a 12-hour bezel and another case shape characterized by a four o’clock crown and a thick bezel locking instrument that utilizes a hook like framework fitted between the drags, it’s a Black Bay, however not in any way what we’ve come to anticipate from the form.
The new Black Bay P01 is 42mm wide in steel and comes just as demonstrated on an exclusive tie that coordinates with the extraordinary drags and bezel lock. Water impervious to 200m and highlighting a helpful 12-hour bezel, the case shape and the bezel locking framework are likely the most remarkable component of this new and abnormal Black Bay. The awry case shape is an extensive takeoff from the Black Bay structure however fortunately they’ve chosen for stick to 42mm. The Seiko-esque crown at four looks great and should assist with dealing with a portion of the additional mass on wrist.
The bezel is bidirectional yet is held immovably set up by a precisely bolting set of hooks, one in each carry. While I will not get an opportunity to attempt this framework for myself until tomorrow, it would seem that it will be enjoyable to test. The framework, which hopes to add a ton of mass and haul to carry length to the fake watch prices depends on a model locking bezel configuration made and tried by Tudor during the ’60s (appeared underneath by means of Tudor’s instagram).
The model on which the new P01 is based.
Between the somewhat bigger case, the unmistakable crown situation, and that bezel lock, it’s truly difficult to anticipate how the P01 will feel and wear on wrist – yet I’m eager to see it in the metal. While absolutely not as mass market as your standard Black Bay, the P01 looks intriguing and I truly like the dark dial and the steel 12-hour bezel. This is unquestionably one that needs an active, so stay tuned for me.
